Elise Pang Wins RCM Gold Medal of Excellence

Congratulations to Elise Pang, student of Timea Agzser Powaza at our Calgary Music Studio, who has been awarded the Royal Conservatory of Music Gold Medal for achieving the highest practical performance mark in Level 4 piano across Alberta, the Northwest Territories, and Nunavut!

Elise is the only recipient of this distinction for her level and region, an honor that recognizes her dedication and focus to musical success and achievement as she works towards her Calgary RCM Lessons.

Why it Matters

When we asked Timea about her lessons with Elise she shared some great insight. Elise’s Gold Medal reflects her focus, daily practice, dedication to technique, and her love of music. From the very beginning of her three years of study with Timea, Elise arrived at her lessons well-prepared, consistently completing her weekly assignments and embracing challenges with discipline and curiosity.

Elise combines technical skill, that her and Time have prioritized, with imagination. Timea shared with us how Elise enjoys creating stories and characters behind her piano pieces, which adds depth and expression to her playing, as well as keeping her practice at home exciting. This creativity, combined with her natural love for the piano, helped her bring her Baroque piece to life.

With this award, Elise has also been invited to perform at the RCM Celebrations of Excellence, a national recital featuring Canada’s young musicians.
