Ensemble Programs


As musicians nurture their own skills, they develop the ability to share their music with others. Playing as part of an ensemble will enhance skills and musicianship and is also a lot of fun!


Tutti String Ensemble Program

‘Tutti’, an Italian term used often in music meaning all together, perfectly represents this branch of our string instruction. This program is suitable for students who are currently in private instruction and are ready to supplement their experience and training with group learning and performance.

Students receive coaching directly as well as in a group a setting while working alongside instructors and collaborative pianist.

Student Requirements:
  • Students should be currently enrolled in private instruction
  • Students should have their own violin to bring to each class
  • Parent observation of class is not required
Schedule:

(1.5 hour rehearsals) 
Bi-weekly Saturdays
Beginner – Intermediate: 3:30-5:00pm
Advanced: 5:00-6:30pm

  • November 2019: 9, 23
  • December 2019: 7, 21
  • January 2020: 18
  • January 25: Final Performance

Chamber Ensemble Program

Registered students will be grouped with classmates to form chamber ensembles, duos, trios and vocal ensembles. Students will learn their part with the support of their private instructor, and receive coaching in ensemble performance in preparation for their performance at Arts Commons for the Morin formal student recitals.

Student Requirements:
  • Students of all instruments and vocalists throughout Calgary’s musical community are welcome to participate
  • There is no age requirement, however students should be a minimum intermediate playing level to both benefit from and contribute to their ensemble group
  • Students are required to be available for all rehearsal dates (times will be assigned) as well as the final performance
